"Jade
Plant"
(Crassula argentea/Crassula portulacea) Native to South Africa
This slow-growing & very sturdy succulent performs best
in full sun. Its soil must dry out completely between thorough soaking waterings. It prefers a cool (but still
bright) winter location. It will attain a maximum height of
four feet or so. (A mature plant may occasionally produce clusters
of small pale-pink flowers at its terminal tips.) Fertilize
in the spring & summer months (March through October) when
plant is actively growing. Propagate with one leaf or stem cuttings
taken in the spring. When grown in full sun, the edges of leaves will be delightfully
rimmed in red! |
